Wedding Show season

At a wedding show a couple weeks ago, there was a photobooth next to our booth. Me and Ran had to jump in and take some shots. They had this awesome bin of random clothing/accessories to put on too which was pretty funny.

this is what happens when you watch too much HGTV

don't pay attention to the cleanliness difference or the photo quality. one was taken long ago with my nice camera, and one with my little point and shoot camera. only pay attention to the marvelous new mahogany stained cabinets!

next for the kitchen, is new black countertops and possibly a tile backsplash.

next up for the family room, baseboards of course. I'm so glad to finally get rid of the hideous wallpaper and nasty carpets! We are thinking about selling our house, so we had to go with a blah neutral color for the room. If we were planning on staying here longer I definitely would have picked a better color. I've been dying to have a gray room for some reason. Oh well, at our next house.

Next project room: basement game room. right now it has crappy carpet that we layed ourselves really fast when we moved in because we didn't want to put the pool table on concrete. We will be getting some sweet antiqued looking wood floors from IKEA. That will be a big project though. We'll have to move the pool table, 2 couches, and a 60 inch projection tv that weighs a ton. literaly. a ton. i'm pretty excited though! We're so glad that we are finally able to get things done around the house with a little extra money in our pockets now.

I don't know why we didn't make these changes 2 1/2 years ago! We would have loved this house so much more but oh well, hopefully whoever buys our house whenever that is will appreciate the work we've put into it.

Resolution Results and new ones

So I went back to last years resolutions post, and wanted to do an update on how last year went, and my new goals for this year. Last year, my resolutions were
1. get to know all my bros & sis in laws better
---I kinda succeded in this one... could have done better, but I think I bonded more with Lindsay & Travis which is good
2. go to the manti temple with nathan
---Check! We were sealed on our 2 year anniversary June 20, 2008
3. be a first shooter for brody
---Check! Not only a first shooter, but office manager basically in charge of a ton of stuff
4. be more social
---not quite check. eh. being social is overrated :) I like the friends that I already have, and I've decided that I'm good with that. Who needs more acquaintances anyways!


Now for this years:

1. Sell our house and get in a more "forever" house.

2. Cook. I mean, really cook. I want to host big sunday dinners and learn to use a BBQ.

3. Travel. Not necessarily huge expensive trips, just lots of little ones. Whether it is to Heber, or California for a weekend.. Just away from here with just me and nathan.

4. Learn the more technical aspect of my job. Cameras, lighting, office stuff, everything there is to know basically!


Welp, that's about it. We'll see how this year goes. Last year was awesome and flew by so I'm hoping the same for this next year.

Depressed Dog

Last week we took Charlie to a dog park and he absolutley loved it! When we got home he was so depressed though. He wouldn't do anything... he wouldn't even look me in the eye he was so mad at us for leaving.

Connors Party

Last week we went to Chuck E Cheese for Brody's kid Connors birthday party. It was fun, we ate blue cupcakes, played lots of games, watched ran play on the blue screen, and watched Connor open presents which was hilarious in itself. Ran & Kels got him a robe which everyone thought was funny because he's only 5, but apparently when he got home the first thing he did was change into the robe!
