poor charlie... he's just so big that he can't swim as good as he wants to. we went to the pond near birch creek before heading out to let the dogs play in the water for a while. the only way I can explain the difference between charlie and sadie swimming is an otter vs. a bear that can't swim. charlie flaps around just barely keeping his head above water, meanwhile sadie is swift and doesn't even make a splash. we kept throwing a ball out in the middle of the pond and sadie was always getting there first so we decided to give charlie a head start on this one. I can just image charlie thinking on the way back "you jerks... letting me think i was actually going to get the ball..."

This was so freakin funny! Poor Charlie :) He tries SO hard! At least we let him get one without the "beaver" Sadie going after it...haha!
hey at least Charlie tried :) Chubs would have been a verrrrry slow runner up in that race.
