First, I'll start with what I wrote here last year with my resolutions for 2009 and we'll see how I did:
1. Sell our house and get in a more "forever" house.
**that's a big fat negatory. We put the house on the market and 3 weeks later Nathan was laid off from his job of 8 years. Oh well, maybe this next year we can try again. I'm not going to put it on my new resolution list though, because it is just something that I was to happen before Lincoln goes to elementary school.
2. Cook. I mean, really cook. I want to host big sunday dinners and learn to use a BBQ.
**We've definitely been cooking alot more around the house. Crockpots are our lifesavers! We got a BBQ grill in June and unfortunately haven't used it a ton, but we're still working on it.
3. Travel. Not necessarily huge expensive trips, just lots of little ones. Whether it is to Heber, or California for a weekend.. Just away from here with just me and nathan.
**I'd say this was a success. I was able to visit Texas twice, New York once, California once. Then with me and Nathan, we took lots of little road trips which were awesome. Hopefully next year we can go more as a family since all my travels were for work and he didn't get to go with me.
4. Learn the more technical aspect of my job. Cameras, lighting, office stuff, everything there is to know basically!
**This one is a success as well, although there is always more to learn. Technology keeps changing and keeps me on my toes with the newest innovations and changes. Brody and Randy both help me a ton with this because both of them are so camera smart, and everything I learn is because of them! I've taken on a lot more responsibility around the studio so definitely learned alot in the business aspect.
Well, 2.5 out of 4 is not so shabby!
Drumroll please, for my 2010 resolutions!
1. Get unhooked from TV. I mean, really.... it's pretty pathetic when my list of favorite TV shows is longer than my list of favorite books. I'm sure this is something that will automatically happen once Lincoln arrives because I'll have less spare time and have something more productive to do in any spare time that I get. Pretty confident I'm going to achieve this one. lol
2. Get my house organized and start food storage. This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, but just haven't gotten around to it. And since Shan is fully convinced from her dream that in Dec 2012 the world is going to go crazy, we should probably have a little food storage to last us a while.
3. Keep in better contact with family that I don't talk to very often. Russ, Laura, Seth, Jaiden in Texas... along with visiting Grandma Despain more often. This is a fun resolution for once!
4. Cut our credit card debt in half (at least). I won't go into detail about how much that is, but lets just say that our credit card debt just passed up our car loan amount. This is a toughy... BUT if it is accomplished, it will lift so much weight off our shoulders. Maybe if this one is done, next years resolution will be to never use a credit card again! That would be awesome!
